  18. <p>     "I know how it feels to be a woman because I am a woman.
  19. And I won't be classified as just a man." With those words,
  20. guitarist PETE TOWNSHEND sent the gossip world into a hypertizzy
  21. mode. Sifted from the new book Rock Lives: Profiles &
  22. Interviews, Townshend's remarks noted  that "I'd been surrounded
  23. by people that I really adored--and was actually sexually
  24. attracted to--who were men." That caused many to label the
  25. interview a coming out, but Townshend, married and the father
  26. of three, also says in the book that he was merely acknowledging
  27. bisexual sympathies that every "complete artist" has. His
  28. position: "I don't want to betray my gay fans' feelings of
  29. solidarity with me. I really don't think it matters whether I'm
  30. gay or not."
